Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Hydrate and the gethydrate.dev website. Short, plain-English where possible. Longer where it has to be.

1. Acceptance

By installing, running, or otherwise using Hydrate — the binary, the dashboard, the Cloudflare-hosted license and billing endpoints, or anything else under gethydrate.dev — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software.

2. License grant

Hydrate is proprietary software owned by Sedasoft Ltd. Subject to these terms we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it as described below.

• Free tier. Personal and commercial use on up to two active projects per installation. No account, no fee. We do not collect telemetry from the Free tier.
• Pro / Team / Enterprise. Paid tiers require a valid license key. The key is bound to the billing account that purchased it and may be verified online periodically (at least once per 30 days for online use; Enterprise offline variants available).
• Prohibitions. You may not redistribute the Hydrate binary, reverse-engineer it for the purpose of defeating license checks, circumvent the Free-tier active-project gate, resell access, or use Hydrate to build a substantially similar service.

3. Subscription & billing

• All payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
• Pro is $9/month. Team is $29/user/month. Enterprise pricing is custom, agreed in writing.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal; access continues through the end of the paid period, then the license falls back to Free.
• Refunds. No refunds after 14 days from the first paid period, except where required by applicable law. Within 14 days, email us for a refund — no quiz.
• Annual and team seat adjustments are pro-rated by Stripe automatically.

4. Data & privacy

• Free tier is fully local. The daemon writes to SQLite in ~/.hydrate/ and speaks to nothing over the network. Hooks fire against localhost:8089. No account, no telemetry, no phone-home.
• Pro sync & restore (when enabled) is encrypted client-side before leaving your machine. We have no ability to decrypt your bundles on the server. If you lose your passphrase, we cannot recover it for you.
• Enterprise. Self-hosted deployments keep data entirely within your infrastructure. Managed Enterprise adds a mutually-agreed data-residency and retention addendum.

5. Limitations of liability

Hydrate is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (without limit) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sedasoft Ltd's total aggregate liability under these terms — in contract, tort, or otherwise — is capped at the fees you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For Free users this cap is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify Pro, Team, and Enterprise customers by email to the billing address on file at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Hydrate after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you don't accept, cancel — you keep access through the end of your paid period under the prior terms.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Sedasoft Ltd is a private limited company incorporated in the United Kingdom.
